HVAC giant Daikin is ramping up its offering to customers, as it prepares to integrate its purchase of Italian refrigeration group Zanotti for €98 million. The €1.85 billion firm is looking to offer customers an integrated approach which it believes rivals cannot match. 

A new report has found that the environmental challenge caused by booming global demand for refrigeration could be far greater than previously thought. Due to changing demographics, particularly in Asia, the number of refrigerated vehicles on the road could feasibly reach 15.5 million by 2025, up from less than 3 million in 2013.

A new zero-emission refrigeration system for transportation applications, developed in the United Kingdom, which delivers both power and cooling from liquid nitrogen, has begun on-vehicle testing. Dearman said the system, which features the company’s liquid nitrogen-powered engine, has already produced promising results.

Ingersoll-Rand plc announced that it has completed the acquisition of FRIGOBLOCK. The transaction was closed for €100 million. FRIGOBLOCK manufactures and designs transport refrigeration units for trucks and trailers in Europe, primarily sold in Northern Europe. 

Ingersoll-Rand plc announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire FRIGOBLOCK for €100 million. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2015, subject to regulatory approval.

Polar Leasing Co. Inc., which specializes in freezer and refrigerator rentals, announced that Michael Hughes has been appointed to the position of sales representative. In addition, Polar Leasing has also reorganized some of its sales territories.
