“It was important for us to show the homeowner the products that create the face of the house. But we also wanted to show all the products that create the heart and soul as well,” said Bill Stewart, manager of SPS Company. “Most wholesalers in our industry plan showrooms around fancy fixtures, bold colors, and bright finishes. What about the items that create comfort, filter out contaminants, exchange stale air with fresh air? This showroom was designed as a teaching experience for the homeowners. We made sure we covered as many inquiries from the homeowner with a hands-on approach. We are very proud of what we have created.”
The heating showroom was installed with an operating in-floor heating system so the homeowner can actually experience the system. For those interested in forced air, the company has operating single and multi-stage furnaces with matching central air conditioning units. There are two installed boiler systems with controls and a high velocity cooling system to match up with the boilers. For air exchange, the company has an energy recovery system instead of the common heat recovery system. Finally, on display is a mini-split air conditioner for zone cooling, as well a whole house HEPA air filtration system.
The Minnesota Standard Showplace also has a complete plumbing showroom, which boasts several plumbing applications.
