ROCKVILLE, MD — The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) has announced the lineup of speakers and educational workshops scheduled for its 2003 convention. The event will be held March 2-6, 2003, at Marriott’s Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, CA.

According to the association, each year members of the MCAA Educational Committee consider the state of the industry and develop an overall strategy for addressing the educational needs of member contractors. This year, with an uncertain economic outlook, the committee chose to concentrate on leadership approaches in difficult times, including the importance of building relationships.

MCAA has scheduled a number of well-known speakers, including former President Gerald R. Ford, former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, baseball player Cal Ripken Jr., and Senator Fred Thompson. Other session speakers include women’s health expert Dr. Judith Reichman, retired chairman of Harley-Davidson Rich Terrlink, international terrorism expert Dr. John Stoessinger, and Olympian Jimmy Shea.

A number of educational sessions are also scheduled for the 2003 event. Workshop topics include: “Implementing Change in Your Organization,” “Mold: What Contractors Need to Know,” and “Latest Trends in Insurance.”
