MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC), the contractors division of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), has launched a new Website to provide commercial contractors with all necessary information required to comply with the Technical Safety and Standards Authority (TSSA) Regulation 220/01.
TSSA’s Boilers and Pressure Vessels Regulation 220/01 states that contractors installing, repairing, or altering refrigeration piping systems over 3 tons capacity are required to have a TSSA Certificate of Authorization. (It is anticipated that the regulation will be amended to raise the threshold to 5 tons).
The Website is only accessible to participating HRAC member companies who are registered on the program. In addition, members will receive printed literature on the program that they can distribute to their customers acknowledging that they hold a Certificate of Authorization.
The new Website - hrai-bpv.ca - provides participating contractor members (who obtain a Certificate of Authorization) with access to the Quality Control Manual, brazing procedures, a CRN library, P-Standard drawings, and forms necessary to comply with the regulation.
HRAC is a national association representing contractor firms that sell, install, and service HVACR products and services for the Canadian market.
