NORMAN, Okla. — One year after introducing its Build-A-Brochure program, Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning, a division of York International Corporation’s Unitary Products Group (UPG), is expanding its offering of online business tools to include the Coleman Ad Planner and new printing options for the Build-A-Brochure program.

The new Ad Planner from Coleman enables Liberties™ dealers to create and send custom newspaper ads direct from their computers, says the company. The interactive customization tool provides access to information on the entire Coleman residential product line, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and single-package units.

Dealers can choose from several ad sizes and prewritten text and headlines to create product and system ads that take advantage of professionally produced product information that is consistent with other sales materials, the company says.

Fill-in-the-blank screens allow the dealer to customize each ad with his/her own information and logos. Dealers can then print completed ads and send or e-mail them directly to a selected newspaper or publishing company at a fraction of the usual production cost, says the manufacturer.

Coleman also is enhancing its Build-A-Brochure program. Coleman has partnered with the Xerox Corporation to provide distributors and Liberties dealers with three alternative turnkey printing solutions for their customized brochures. The first option enables dealers with low or moderate printing requirements to lease a high-resolution Phaser 8200 color desktop printer to meet their printing needs.

The second option makes it possible for distributors to lease a high-resolution DocuColor 12 printer and copier for high-volume color printing and copying. Participating distributors can invite dealers to e-mail their brochures to the printer where they will be automatically printed. The printed brochures will be ready for pickup when dealers visit the distributor for products or parts.

By selecting the third printing option, dealers can e-mail their completed brochure files to a commercial printing vendor who will print, package, and mail the brochures to them.

“All three of these options are designed to optimize the quality and convenience of the Build-A-Brochure sales tool,” said Mickey Smith, Coleman brand manager. “When offered in conjunction with the new Ad Planner program, they outfit Coleman Liberties dealers with a powerful selection of online sales tools that support their marketing efforts with carefully targeted, professional-looking messages.”
