POMONA, N.J. -
Geothermal Technology II For Design Professionals, a review of Geoexchange
technology with overviews of multiple case studies, will take place June 25,
2007, in Morristown, N.J. The course is being hosted by Jersey Central Power
& Light.
The training
also will focus on design details such as heat gain/loss data, test bore and
thermal conductivity testing, borehole layout, software applications, and
ventilation issues. The course will include computer design software updates
and life cycle costs. “The attendee will become familiar with GHP (geothermal
heat pump) technology as it relates to LEED certified buildings,” planners
said.
Attendees
should already have some knowledge of geothermal technology, the planners said.
A quick overview will be given, but then the course will move deeper, faster.
Instructors include Lynn Stiles, Ph.D., of the Richard Stockton College of New
Jersey, and Howard Alderson, P.E., of Alderson Engineering Inc.
Group discounts
are available. Organizations with three or more employees attending will get a
special group discount if they register by the early registration deadline. The
price for each employee will be reduced to $99. Early registration costs $125.
After June 21 the cost is $150.
