COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) Foundation made multiple changes to its headship. Having completed his term as president and leader of the foundation, Douglas R. Young, president of the Behler-Young Co., has been replaced by Mark Faessler of Progress Supply Inc. The foundation not only elected new officers, but it also restructured the titles that these new officers hold. Faessler, for example, now holds the same position as Young formerly held, but as chairman, not as president.
According to the HARDI Foundation, Young was the first president of the consolidated foundation - a final step in the blending of the two wholesale organizations that formed HARDI. Many projects were created under Young’s leadership, such as the foundation produced “Connections for Life,” a DVD on the functions and services of HVACR distributors and the research and development of the new Profitability Assessment Tool used to work with individual customers to increase profitable working relationships as well as overseeing funding of scholarships and grants.
As the new chair, Faessler will lead the HARDI Foundation over the next three years.
In addition to Faessler, the newly elected board of trustees includes: President Bill Barnett, Boutette & Barnett Trade Distribution Centre, London, Ontario; Vice-president David McIlwaine, HVAC Distributors Inc., Mount Joy, Pa.; Treasurer Chrissy Nardini, American Metals Supply Co. Inc., Fenton, Mo.; Executive Vice-President Donald L. Frendberg, HARDI, Columbus, Ohio; Secretary James H. Healy, HARDI, Columbus, Ohio; and Accountant Mary Gustafson, HARDI, Columbus, Ohio.
