Fujitsu General America, Inc., announced the appointment of Tom Gunstra as national trainer for HVAC Products. Gunstra’s background includes six years in sales for Porco Energy Corp. in New York state, where he was responsible for training, and marketing and sales of HVAC, gas appliances, and related equipment. He also ran his own business, The Training Man, for seven years, providing a wide range of HVAC training for service and installation technicians. He was also a trainer for the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council.
Additionally, Gunstra’s experience includes six years as service manager for an HVAC contracting business and for a manufacturer’s distributor in New York state. It is there where he was factory trained to teach classes such as electrical troubleshooting and reading diagrams, gas and oil heating, airflow properties and measurement, and refrigeration. This experience included the initial rollout of R-410A refrigerant with factory certification, rooftop HVAC troubleshooting, and semihermetic compressor failure diagnosis.
“Our continued sales growth has created a need for a national trainer to manage our successful training programs and to take them to new heights,” said Roy Kuczera, Fujitsu senior vice president of sales, HVAC Products. “Tom’s expertise will strengthen our nationwide initiatives for training distributors and installers. As we expand sales and introduce new products, Tom will enable us to even more effectively reach a wide variety of audiences.”
