The AHW-SC12AF2 Solar A/C & Heat Ductless Mini Split is available in 9,000 to 42,000 Btu. The photovoltaic (PV) solar residential mini-split creates dc electricity to run the unit. When the unit is not running, the PV panel still generates electricity, which can then be sold back to the electrical grid. According to the company, the system saves up to 50 percent in electric costs over conventional inverter mini-splits. It has the same components as a standard ductless mini split with the exception of a single solar panel. The unit is considered “plug and play,” and comes with R-410A refrigerant. No special installation tools are required.
