ARLINGTON, Va. - Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps for June totaled 937,093, down 1 percent compared with the same month a year ago, according to statistics from the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). For the year-to-date, combined shipments totaled 3,342,265, a 7.1 percent drop compared with the same period last year.

However, heat pump shipments for June totaled 265,347, an increase of 8.5 percent from the same month a year ago. For the year-to-date, heat pump shipments totaled 1,033,769, a 2.2 percent drop compared with the same period last year.
