Trane was showcased in late December 2008 on the Science Channel’s “How It’s Made” program. “How It’s Made” is a documentary television series that tells the story of how common, everyday products are manufactured. Each episode consists of four narrated segments, each devoted to one object, and a “historical capsule.”
The Trane segment featured, from start to finish, the many stages of the manufacturing process for a Trane air conditioner, including the production of Spine Fin™ aluminum coils, the assembly of the refrigerant circuits and exterior casing for the company’s air conditioners, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Trane Residential Systems facility and its System Extreme Environmental Test Center.
Filmed at Trane’s Residential Systems facility, the segment is now available for viewing online at http://trane.com/howitsmade.
