WASHINGTON - The 20th Annual Energy Efficiency Forum, sponsored by Johnson Controls Inc. and the United States Energy Association (USEA), will be held June 16, 2009, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
According to Johnson Controls and the USEA, recent interest and events have moved energy efficiency to the forefront of solutions addressing critical energy security, climate change, and economic recovery issues. The 20th annual forum will examine how innovative energy efficiency policy, practices, and technology are combining to transform the country’s vision of a clean energy future.
Confirmed speakers include: Tom Leppert, mayor of Dallas; Anthony Malkin, owner, Empire State Building, and president, Wien & Malkin LLC and W&H Properties; Steven Specker, Ph.D., president and CEO, Electric Power Research Institute; and Timothy Wirth, president, United Nations Foundation and Better World Fund.
The forum will also include a panel session titled “Transforming America’s Energy Future” moderated by Wirth, and another panel session called “Efficient IT: Addressing Energy through Innovation and Technology” moderated by Maria Vargas, Climate Protection Partnerships Division, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
