ROCKVILLE,
Md. - The Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA’s) Career
Development Committee recently selected the recipients of its 2009 Student
Chapter and Student Internship Grants. All the grants are funded with support
provided by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation
(MCERF).
The Chapter of Excellence Grants, each $3,000, were awarded to MCAA student
chapters at the California Polytechnic State University at Pomona, Ferris State
University, Purdue University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the
University of Washington. Emerging Chapter Grants, also $3,000 each, were
awarded to MCAA student chapters at California State University at Chico,
California State University at Sacramento, Kent State University, and Weber
State University. An Emerging Chapter Grant was also awarded to McMaster
University in Hamilton, Ont., Canada. The committee awarded 50 $1,000 Student
Internship Grants to MCAA contractor members who hired student interns. All
grants will be mailed around mid-August.
