DALLAS/FORT WORTH, Texas - ARS®/Rescue Rooter®, a privately held, nationwide provider of air conditioning, heating, and plumbing services, has acquired Dallas-based Efficient Attic Systems (EAS). This acquisition marks ARS/Rescue Rooter’s first service line expansion, through the addition of a company that provides blown-in insulation, attic ventilation, and high-tech radiant barrier services.
“An important part of the HVAC business involves improving energy efficiency in the home,” said Dave Slott, ARS/Rescue Rooter president and chief operating officer. “The sales and service of energy-efficient products is a growing focus of our business, as customers are very concerned with lowering their energy bills.” Slott added, “EAS is a leading-edge business with outstanding customer service, and we are excited to be aligned with their operation.”
EAS is best known for its Energy Efficient Attic® program, which is designed to save consumers up to 30 percent on their energy bills, said the company. The Energy Efficient Attic program integrates three energy-saving techniques (proper attic insulation, balanced attic ventilation, and spray-on radiant barrier) into a single solution.
“EAS services, including their proprietary, Sola-ShieldSMhigh-tech radiant barrier solution, allow ARS/Rescue Rooter to expand its capabilities and expertise,” said Don Karnes, ARS/Rescue Rooter chief executive officer. “We believe these services offer strong value to homeowners in an underutilized category, and we welcome this additional opportunity to provide leadership in the home services industry.”
EAS was founded in 2002 and retrofits homes in five markets: Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix.
“By joining the ARS/Rescue Rooter team, EAS will be able to better serve homeowners across all our markets, and also give our employees the opportunity to grow professionally as part of a strong national network,” said Bob Deanda, president of EAS.
In Texas and Phoenix, EAS will continue to operate under its existing name with current management. ARS/Rescue Rooter also intends to expand the Energy Efficient Attic program through its existing business locations across the country.
