CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Delmar Cengage Learning has announced new online offerings for construction professionals, including more than 1,100 state licensing board-certified online courses and an online tool to assist with building codes.
According to the company, the new online courses are designed specifically for construction professionals, including contractors, architects, and engineers, and they contain information that can be used to review a topic, investigate a new specialty, or gain in-depth knowledge in a broad range of subject areas pertaining to the field. The courses are rated by degree of difficulty and meet state licensing board continuing education requirements. Within the online catalog, users will also find 40 courses focused on green building, including courses on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and accreditation process.
In addition to the new online courses, Delmar is now offering residential construction professionals access to Code Coach, what the company says is an easy-to-use online tool to assist with questions pertaining to building codes. Code Coach provides access to residential building codes as well as information to help clarify and interpret difficult code language using common construction terminology. Code Coach also offers images, figures, tables, and pop-up notes to help users better understand critical aspects of the code.
“Today it is more important than ever for construction professionals to keep up with certifications and improve their credentials to ensure they remain competitive in the job market,” said Greg Clayton, vice president, Delmar. “Due to the difficult economy, many construction training facilities are offering fewer in-person seminars. Now, in addition to existing choices of materials in print and CD formats, our customers also have the option of convenient online access to board-certified training and online tools.”
