TORONTO - The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) and the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) have announced that a second annual “Ride for Habitat” will be held Aug. 21, 2011. The motorcycle ride will raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Canada.
“We had a fantastic day last year with 30 riders,” said Sean Giberson of Taco Canada Ltd., who helped spearhead the initiative. “We’re hoping to double that this year. The ride is open to anyone.”
Jeff House of Jess-Don Dunford Ltd., who created the scenic route for the inaugural ride, said organizers have decided on multiple routes this year, with a common meeting place for lunch. “We’re hoping to have starting points in Vaughan, Kitchener/Waterloo, Hamilton/Stoney Creek and Peterborough, which will make it easier for a lot more riders to participate.”
Registration is $50 per person and will be available in the next few months through CIPH and HRAI. For more information, contact Martin Luymes at 800-267-2231 ext. 235 or e-mail mluymes@hrai.ca.
