LONDON — Luvata recently announced plans to expand the manufacturing of its coil corrosion protection coatings into Mexico.

Although the exact location of the facility has not yet been determined, plans include a 50,000- to 60,000-square-foot building in the Monterrey, Mexico area. Luvata officials hope to have the facility fully operational by the first quarter of 2013, with plans of hiring up to 50 employees.

Luvata’s HVACR coil corrosion protection coatings include both factory-applied ElectroFin® E-coat and spray-applied Insitu®, which helps retain a unit’s operating efficiency while reducing maintenance, replacement, and operating costs — ultimately extending the length of an HVACR system’s service.

“With our customer base growing in Mexico, it’s important that we continue to grow with them,” said Luvata CEO John Peter Leesi. “This expansion helps us and our customers save on energy, freight, and logistic costs, while opening up capacity for Luvata in the U.S.”

The new facility in Mexico joins Luvata’s two other full-service coil-coating centers in Louisville, Ky., and Jacksonville, Texas, in offering ElectroFin E-coat and Insitu. Insitu is also available through locations in Tampa, Fla.; San Leandro, Calif.; and Temecula, Calif.
