John Romanelli, owner of Burt’s Reliable, Southold, N.Y., was involved in a biofuel accident that ignited a flash fire on Dec. 30, 2011.

Romanelli was 47 years old and leaves behind his wife, Heather; two children, Ethan and Tara; and his parents and brothers. The family asks that any donations go to Eastern Long Island Hospital or Stony Brook University Medical Center’s Burn Unit.
