He was a member of the executive team at Trent Metals for 16 years and a leader who valued his business relationships and friendships during his tenure. Smith was also an active person outside the office, riding horses, playing guitar, canoeing, and enjoying the outdoors in northern Ontario. He is survived by his wife Cathy, and children Andrew and Danielle.
