ST. LOUIS — Vatterott College is now enrolling students in its two newly accredited HVAC training programs in Joplin, Mo. The diploma program, Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Service Technician, is a 50-week program. The associate degree program, Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician, is an 80-week degree program with an emphasis in management. Classes are scheduled to start this fall.

The diploma program, Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Service Technician, covers concepts from air conditioning and commercial refrigeration to heat pumps, alternative and green energy, motor theory and control, hydronic heating and cooling systems, wiring diagrams and schematics, and maintenance schedules.

The associate of occupational studies degree, Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician with an emphasis in management, is designed for those choosing to blend hands-on and business skills. This program combines heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration service technician concepts from the diploma program with small business and management techniques. Students learn industrial and commercial load calculations, ethics in energy and society, direct digital controls, building and energy auditing, and industry credentials and certifications.

Vatterott offers day and evening classes, along with career service assistance, for both the HVAC diploma and degree programs.
