Four fans connected in parallel provide built-in redundancy in the PowerAire® Quad fan assist module. Designed for data center installations, the module manages the cooling requirements for dense server racks and blades. It provides a blast of cooling through the DirectAire® airflow panel. The module is 4 inches deep and can be used in retrofits with finished floor heights as low as 7.5 inches. The unit automatically turns on when conditions require additional cooling, with multiple control options available: client controlled (PowerAire Quad C), one rack-mounted sensor (PowerAire Quad S), and three rack-mounted sensors (PowerAire Quad M). Equipped with variable-speed fan drives, all four fans can be throttled up or down based on heat-load requirements, making the module an ideal solution for cooling the toughest hot spots in a data center, said the company. The module is easy to install in retrofit applications or as part of a new, advanced cooling strategy. Coupled with DirectAire, PowerAire can deliver up to 2,495 cfm at 0.1inch H2O (static pressure). It has viewable peak temperature for walkthrough check of each rack and is easy to install in either 24-inch or 60-cm. It is available with 100-120V or 200-240V power input options.
