ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Covertech announced that it has been granted three new patents for its rFOIL™ insulation — U.S. Patent No. 8,221,871, U.S. Patent No. 8,327,601, and U.S. Patent No. 8,343,614. These follow the earlier grant of two U.S. patents and two Canadian patents. The inventor named in each patent is Furio Orologio, one of the founders of Covertech.

According to the company, the inventions result from research by Covertech to satisfy the need for reflective thermal insulation meeting Class-A standards. The two earlier patents were directed to the use of insulation comprising of metalized polymeric film for bubble-pack assemblies. The new patents extend the use to all other reflective insulation materials based on metalized polymeric film which provide Class-A standard thermal insulation, including polystyrene foam, closed cell foam, polyethylene and polypropylene foams, closed cell foams, radiant barriers, and other multi-layer assemblies.

John Starr, vice president/partner of Covertech, said, “These latest patents significantly expand the scope of our patent portfolio. We are pleased to offer this group of patents for licensing on reasonable terms.”

Starr noted that those interested in a license under the patents may contact him directly at johnstarr@covertechfab.com. For more information, visit www.rfoil.com.
