Pittsburgh will play host to the RSES International conference and expo this fall. |
The educational aspects will include training for HVACR contractors; service technicians; operations/maintenance managers, engineers and technicians; engineers; sales staff; instructors; and students. HVACR manufacturers and other industry professionals will conduct many of the educational sessions, a number of which will focus on new technologies.
For those who don’t wish to register for or attend the entire conference, there will be the option to RSES members, nonmembers, and students to attend daily educational sessions rather than the entire conference.
Conference Timeline
The kick-off event of the conference will be the opening ceremonies, which will be held Oct. 24. Later that day the Awards Luncheon will be held during which the following awards will be presented: Paul B. Reed Award; Emil T. Zollo Memorial Award; John Spence Award; Imperial Awards; To Make Life Worthwhile Awards; Newsletter Contest Awards; Rising Star Award; V.V. Solomon Educator/Teacher of the Year Award; Walter B. Stopera Speaker of the Year Award; RSES Distinguished Service Member of the Year Award; Wayburn Wilson Memorial Award(s); Vocational Instructor/School Award; David M. Lawson “Service of Excellence” Memorial Award; W.R. Barranger Manufacturers’ Service Advisory Council Member of the Year Award; and the Refrigeration Contractor of the Year Award.
As part of the conference, the RSES HVACR Technology Expo will take place, also on Oct 24. The trade show event will feature the latest HVACR equipment, tools, and services, with manufacturer representatives on hand to answer questions and explain their products’ features.
In addition, there will be special festivities including: the RSES appreciation reception on Oct. 23; MSAC Ask the Experts session on Oct. 24; the RSES Annual Business Meeting, RSES Auxiliary Business Meeting, and president’s welcome lunch on Oct. 25; and the closing dinner on Oct. 26. There will also be programs for the RSES Auxiliary, made up of spouses of those in the industry. Prior to the conference, optional activities and an industry tour will be available.
Also, the RSES Empire Keystone Association will hold its annual business meeting on Oct. 27.
Testing opportunities for RSES Specialized Member, RSES Certificate Member, RSES Certificate Member Specialist, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Usage certification, Universal R-410A certification and North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification will be tentatively offered Oct. 24-26.
