NORTHBROOK, Ill. — UL is warning consumers and retailers of some immersion heaters in the U.S. that bear counterfeit UL marks.

The immersion heaters have not been evaluated by UL to its appropriate standards for safety and it is unknown if these immersion heaters comply with any safety requirements.

The immersion heaters affected are part numbers TMP-IMM-1776 and TMP-IMM-2479 and were manufactured by Tempora Heating Elements Inc., Montreal.

Both the part number and Tempora Heating Elements Inc. appear with the counterfeit mark.
