EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. — In an effort to help the next generation of HVACR technicians, hilmor announced its Retool Your Future program, which includes sponsoring a contest that will offer a $10,000 scholarship to three current or future HVACR students.

Three students will be awarded $10,000 scholarships and a hilmor merchandising Green Wall will be donated to their schools. The students will also receive the opportunity to travel to the AHR Expo 2014, the world’s largest HVACR trade show, in New York City.

Additionally, each winner will receive a new hilmor Starter Kit, which includes the dual readout thermometer, 2-valve aluminum manifold, quick-engage flare & swage, and quick-change magnetic nut driver.

“Despite the fact that jobs in the HVACR industry are expected to grow, the industry is challenged to find skilled workers to fill these jobs,” said Andrea Halpin, senior marketing manager, hilmor. “Hilmor created this scholarship contest as a way to encourage people to pursue a career in the HVACR industry.”

The online essay contest is open Aug. 1-Oct. 31 to those who are currently enrolled in, or have applied for admission into, an HVACR school in the U.S. Official rules are available at www.retoolyourfuture.com. Winners will be notified in December.
