RSES logoRSES’ new certified trainer program, first announced in late 2012 during the RSES Conference and HVACR Technology Expo at Isle of Palms, S.C., is “off and running,” according to a statement from the trade association.

“The RSES Certified Trainer program allows RSES to make quality HVACR instruction widely available to those working or conducting business in the HVACR industry,” the statement said. The program provides training focusing on safety and the improvement of operational and maintenance competency in the HVACR environment. “Specifically customized to meet precise needs, the program helps companies provide the best instruction possible to their customers and employees,” said the statement.

The program was developed for businesses of all sizes and can encompass manufacturers, wholesalers, contractors, and trade associations. RSES sets up a training event for them, either in-house or at an off-site location “while giving HVACR professionals the tools to increase productivity, improve safety, maximize efficiency, and reduce costs,” the statement said.

“RSES Certified Trainers have demonstrated exemplary skills and success in planning, developing, designing, and delivering effective training and proficiency in making training more practical and participation-oriented. Individuals are certified for three years.”

“The RSES Certified Trainer program is an important addition to our offerings,” said Roger Hensley, RSES educational and examining board chair. “It expands on how RSES fulfills its vision. Not only does RSES create various training materials for HVACR professionals, now we can help advance HVACR instructors’ abilities as well as provide trainers to deliver instruction.”

Currently the trainers include Ratib Baker, Brynn C. Cooksey, Arthur Miller, Nick Reggi, Thomas J. Schaefer, and Steve M. Wellander.

For industry trainers or instructors looking to become certified, the next available RSES Certified Trainer workshop will be held on Oct. 21-22 at the RSES Conference and HVACR Technology Expo in conjunction with the RSES Empire Keystone Association 50th Annual Conference at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh.
