Kerr served for 16 years as director of energy services at sister PPL mechanical contracting firm McClure Company where he was responsible for leading McClure’s design-build and energy services sales, development, engineering, and commissioning processes. That portfolio of work grew to more than $40 million in annual revenue. Kerr also managed energy retrofits of more than 30 million square feet of Pennsylvania buildings.
Kerr is a registered professional engineer. He serves as chair of ASHRAE’s technical committee for design-build contracting and construction technologies and is a board member for the National Association of Energy Services Companies (NAESCO). He also serves as an advisory board member to Penn State’s Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (PACE), which has close ties with the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster for Energy-Efficient Buildings at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia.
