NEW YORK — Rheem is showing its Prestige™ Series hybrid electric heat pump water heater with an energy factor (EF) of 2.45, which the company says is the most efficient water heater it has ever developed.

The unit features a backlit color touch-screen control, which provides homeowners service alerts, as well as detailed text-based diagnostics for the contractor; compatibility with EcoNet™, a technology that enables Rheem heating, cooling, and water heating products to communicate with each other on one network; and dry-fire protection, which shuts down the water heater when it is not full of water.

Designed for residential applications, Rheem’s Prestige Series can be used for both retrofits and new construction.

The product won an AHR Expo Innovation Award in the Plumbing category.
