PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Midea has announced what it is calling a change in corporate direction with a refined focus in promoting the Midea brands, including Midea, Arctic King, Kool King, and Comfee. This has led to the appointment of Eli Glanzberg as the new Midea America Corp. (MAC) president. The change also includes a consolidation of its Canadian subsidiary, forming a newly named company, Midea America and Canada Corp. (MACC).
Glanzberg has served as vice president of MAC and general manager of the refrigeration and laundry division since 2010. Prior to his career with MAC, he served as the senior VP sales and marketing at Emerson Radio Corp. for seven years. He brings over 30 years of experience in the retail and wholesale North American markets.
The previous president, Isaac Xiao, is being promoted to associate vice president of Midea International Division (MID), located at Midea headquarters, in order to head up the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) business Midea has internationally, and to coordinate the original brand manufacturer (OBM) business Midea continues to maintain in North America. The company said Xiao had been in the U.S. for seven years and was instrumental in guiding more of MAC’s growth into U.S. distribution while turning the company around to profitability.
