SAN FRANCISCO — Genability Inc., a provider of energy cost software for applications including solar and home energy management, has announced both a strategic investment and a technology licensing partnership with EnerNOC Inc., a provider of energy intelligence software (EIS).
“This funding will allow Genability to expand our team, accelerate our product development, and increase our leadership in the rapidly growing solar, storage, electric vehicle, and connected home markets,” said Jason Riley, Genability’s founder and CEO. “Partnering with EnerNOC will advance our technology and bring more savings to both companies’ customers.”
“EnerNOC is committed to building best-in-class energy intelligence software applications that deliver real value to our customers. Genability’s utility tariff and rate engine gives us the functionality we need to translate kilowatt hour usage into customer-specific dollar terms across our entire portfolio of commercial, institutional, and industrial customers, many of which have sites in dozens of geographies,” said Tim Healy, chairman and CEO of EnerNOC. “As we looked at the market for potential partners, Genability stood out as a leader in the field with proven technology that is uniquely positioned to help EnerNOC scale domestically and internationally.”
Genabilty said that using its software, solar companies can demonstrate what their systems can save customers; home energy management companies and connected appliance manufacturers can provide their customers with cost transparency and options to save more.
