Louis “Skip” W. Lowien, 68, a long-time employee of Emerson Climate Technologies, passed away Feb. 13.
Born May 7, 1945, in Dyersburg, Tenn., Skip was the son of Clarence William Lowien Jr. and Virginia Rose (Short) Lowien. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Tana (Sztuk), in 2010, whom he married in 1966.
He is survived by his son, Patrick, and his wife, Dana (Hellmich), and granddaughters, Anna, Emily, and Elise, who reside in Maryland.
Skip was a U.S. Army staff sergeant and received a Joint Service Commendation Medal for his efforts in Thailand (1967-69).
After returning from duty, Skip graduated from Ohio State University in 1972 and spent his free time camping, fishing, gardening, playing golf, and enjoying photography.
Following his 2012 retirement, he spent much time volunteering for local organizations in the Sidney, Ohio area.
