Tecumseh Products Co. has expanded operations at its facility in Verona, Miss. The expansion represents a multi-million dollar investment for Tecumseh, retaining 350 jobs at the facility and creating up to 150 new jobs over the next four years, the company said in an announcement.

Tecumseh manufactures refrigeration and air conditioning products and expanded production of the AE² commercial refrigeration compressor to better serve the North American market. Previously the AE² compressor was manufactured in Brazil and France. The company also announced plans to expand its condensing unit production at the Verona facility.

Since its launch in January 2011, the AE² has seen adoption in beverage coolers, commercial refrigerators and freezers, and similar applications worldwide.

Expansion of the Verona manufacturing plan came with financial assistance from the state of Mississippi. The Mississippi Development Authority provided expansion support for building modifications, infrastructure improvements, and relocation assistance for equipment.
