• The Thermostat Recycling Corp. (TRC) announced the 2014 Big Man on Planet competition in partnership with Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). The contest will run through Oct. 31. HARDI members must sign up by May 31.

• The Alliance to Save Energy (Washington) will host its 2014 Energy Efficiency Global Forum May 20-21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, District of Columbia.

• The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) released sales data showing, in year-over-year comparisons, air handlers are 42 percent ahead of 2013 while residential furnaces are 14 percent ahead of 2013.

• The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) will hold PHCC Connect 2014 on Oct. 8-10 at the New Orleans Marriott.

• Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI) announced the launch of the BPI Product Listing Program, a system that will evaluate and list the home-performance tools, products, and materials that meet BPIs industry standards.
