ALBANY, N.Y. — SmartWatt Energy announced that it has earned a spot on the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Qualified List of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs). This list compiles private firms in the energy efficiency industry who have submitted an extensive application and been deemed qualified by a review board of DOE staff.
Inclusion on the list requires extensive energy efficiency design and implementation experience, detailed project case studies, and proof of a highly-qualified staff. SmartWatt is now qualified by the DOE for the implementation of energy savings performance contracts. The recognition has been given to just over 100 companies nationwide.
SmartWatt’s Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Division works with end-use clients throughout the United States to design and install integrated energy-efficiency projects. The Utility Programs Division contracts directly with utilities to manage their commercial energy efficiency programs. The Software Development Division creates customized, proprietary software applications to increase efficiencies and provide added value to utilities and national accounts clients.
