WESTBOROUGH, Mass.— A dozen Northeast companies received Cool Smart awards during the New England ACCA golf tournament in September. Sponsored by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island Cool Smart program, the awards honor contractors for energy-efficiency practices, leadership, and quality installation of HVAC systems.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Cool Smart is a high-efficiency central air conditioning and heat pump program for residential customers of National Grid, NSTAR Electric, Unitil, Western Massachusetts Electric Co., and Cape Light Compact. This initiative promotes the purchase and verified quality installation of Energy Star-qualified central air conditioning and heat pump systems.
Massachusetts Cool Smart award winners are: A Plus HVAC, Westfield; Central Cooling & Heating, Woburn; Chaves Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., Hudson; Climate Concepts HVAC, Bridgewater; Heating and Air Conditioning Services, West Bridgewater; HVAC Experts Inc., Worcester; Mucciarone Mechanical Services, Attleboro; Muirfield Mechanical Services, Boxborough; Nashoba Air Inc., Littleton; and Robies Refrigeration Inc., Hyannis.
Rhode Island Cool Smart award winners are: Aire Serv of Central Rhode Island, Pawtucket; and CARJON Air Conditioning & Heating, Smithfield.
“Since its inception in 2004, the program has grown exponentially,” said Agnes Hagopian, program manager, Cool Smart. “Our dedicated contractors have installed more than 50,000 energy efficient systems in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The golf tournament has proved to be a great venue for celebrating accomplishments and we thank our many sponsors, ACCA, and the Stow Country Club.”
