ARLINGTON, Va. — Ed Purvis, chairman, Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), and COO, Emerson Climate Technologies Inc., is seeking participants for the Chairman’s Challenge, in which AHRI members compete in activities that relate to the chairman’s goals for the association.
Purvis intends to focus on AHRI’s legislative and regulatory policy as well as education and recruitment. To that end, each company that hosts a legislator at its facility or visits a local school to promote AHRI’s Rees Scholarship Foundation earns a point in the competition.
The challenge is intended to inform legislators about the contributions AHRI member companies make to the American economy and to increase applicants to the Rees scholarship program, which was created to assist with the recruitment and retention of qualified HVACR and water heating technicians. The contest ends Nov. 2. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/AHRIChairmansChallenge.
