NEW ORLEANS — The Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI) honored Peter Troast of Energy Circle with its 2015 Tony Woods Award for Excellence in Advancing the Home Performance Industry, at the Affordable Comfort Inc. (ACI) National Home Performance Conference in New Orleans.
Troast was nominated by industry peers and selected by an independent panel of impartial judges for his tireless efforts as a technology expert and impassioned energy efficiency ambassador, responsible for the marketing and outreach success of many contracting companies in the home performance industry and beyond. Energy Circle’s work in online marketing, search engine optimization, and web design have helped modernize the home performance industry and ensure the growth of companies within it.
“Peter’s leadership at Energy Circle has created a small army of technology professionals dedicated to the cause of energy efficiency and renewable energy,” said Larry Zarker, BPI CEO. “Peter’s blogs and Energy Circle’s open data are enormous resources to companies throughout the industry. He is a critical asset to the future growth of the home performance industry.”
The Tony Woods Award is an initiative from BPI in honor of Tony Woods, former president of Canam Building Envelope Specialists Inc. and ZERODRAFT®, and a pioneer of the home performance industry. During his career, he served tirelessly as a volunteer board member with BPI, ACI, as president of the Ontario Building Envelope Council, and on more than 10 standards committees dealing with air leakage control, air barriers, ventilation, and more. Woods passed away after a battle with leukemia in 2009.
