These V-traps have a valve design, are self-priming, and never need added water. A self-sealing column of water, equal in height to the negative pressure in the air conditioner, automatically prevents air from entering the drain trap, which allows the condensate to drain freely. The column of water empties with each air conditioner cycle along with accumulated dirt and debris. This feature also ensures the drain trap will not freeze in the winter. Models are available for residential, commercial, and industrial air conditioners with up to 90-ton capacity and with negative pressures up to minus 8 inches water column (wc).
