ARLINGTON, Va. — With the recent devastation from massive flooding in Texas, Oklahoma, and other areas of the country, ACCA is urging contractors to prepare now for the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June 1 through Nov. 30.
Following in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, ACCA formed its Disaster Relief Committee to help ACCA member contractors affected by extraordinary natural disasters. Since then, the committee has distributed thousands of dollars to ACCA members and their employees who have been severely impacted by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, and more.
ACCA has tools available to help contractors plan before a disaster hits. Resources include an emergency supply kit checklist, first aid kit checklist, and tips on making an emergency action plan for your business and your home.
If you’re an ACCA contractor, or know of one significantly impacted by a catastrophic weather event, please contact Rosemary Graeme, manager, disaster relief committee, ACCA, at 703-575-4477 or rosemary.graeme@acca.org.
