EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. — hilmor recently announced the commencement of its third annual Retool Your Future scholarship contest.

The contest has received more than a thousand student entries from hundreds of trade schools over the last two years since its origin, successfully supporting the next generation of HVACR technicians. Designed to help current and future HVACR students get top-of-the-line tools in their hands as they begin their careers, the contest awards six grand prizes.

“We in the industry have a responsibility to encourage careers in HVACR, which is why we developed the Retool Your Future program,” said Andrea Halpin, senior manager, brand marketing, hilmor. “hilmor prides itself on bringing innovative tools to HVACR technicians, and the most important time to introduce these tools is when students are going through their training and preparing to enter the industry.”

Open to students in the U.S. and Canada, the scholarship program aids aspiring HVACR technicians in their endeavor to enter the field. Along with a $5,000 scholarship, winners will receive a hilmor HVACR Starter Kit with tools essential for beginning their careers; a trip to the 2016 AHR EXPO in Orlando, Florida; and a hilmor Green Wall valued at $5,000 with more than 40 HVACR tools donated to their schools.

To enter the Retool Your Future contest, students who are currently enrolled in or have applied for admission into an established, recognized HVACR school can submit a 250-word essay explaining how the HVACR industry will “retool their life.” The contest deadline is Oct. 31.
