ST. LOUIS — Nortek Global HVAC announced it is enhancing its HVAC products with QR codes that link to technical literature to enable faster troubleshooting. The company has implemented its new QR code product label to help contractors in the field easily access technical literature associated with the equipment. Contactors can scan the label with their smartphone QR code reader and link directly to the specific model information in the company’s online literature library. Available documents include installation instructions, charging charts, replacement parts lists, wiring diagrams, and more.
“Contractors call us for technical help, and many times the answers are in the literature,” said Matt Lattanzi, director of warranty and technical services at Nortek Global HVAC. “Having a way to quickly scan a code on the product and find the necessary documents can reduce lost time on the job and help ensure the equipment is installed and/or serviced correctly.”
The company said its on-product literature links join a long list of technology solutions to help HVAC contractors work more effectively and more efficiently. In addition to the new product labels, the company supports contractors with an in-home sales iPad app, mobile load calculation tools, weekly video tips, and support for managing a Facebook business page.
Nortek Global HVAC has implemented the new QR codes on split system air conditioners with other product lines to follow.
