COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Val and Bill Daniel, owners of Allstate Sheet Metal Inc. in Oklahoma City, were recognized with the Distinguished Legislative Service Award at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) 72nd annual convention held at The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“The Distinguished Legislative Service Award is one of the highest legislative honors one may earn within the organization. It recognizes Daniels’ decades-long career of dedicated legislative and political activism,” said Thomas Szymczak, 2015 SMACNA president. “An active legislative force locally, regionally, and nationally, Val and Bill have proven to be one of the most effective political and legislative teams in the political and policy arena on many issues of priority to SMACNA and our industry in general. While active legislative and political advocates on pension issues, labor-management issues, prevailing wage and project labor agreement issues, energy-efficiency issues, and more, Val and Bill have stood out for decades as chapter leaders in SMACNA and the industry on many legislative campaigns to improve the position of the state, local, and national sheet metal industry.”

The Daniels have been members of SMAC PAC’s Congressional Insiders Club for nearly 20 years and consistently attended the Washington Issues conferences and convention political events. Furthermore, they’ve been active leaders in their chapter’s political and legislative efforts on a variety of coalitions as well as providing industry leadership to educate state and federal government officials on key industry issues.

“SMACNA is proud to honor them as one of our finest and most committed legislative and political teams who have long been a generous contributor to SMAC PAC and enthusiastic attendees at all SMACNA political functions,” Szymczak said. “They’ve remained among the most engaged and informed advocates of political involvement and SMACNA’s interests since joining other SMACNA member firms in the Oklahoma SMACNA Chapter decades ago.”
