LOS ANGELES — Carrier Corp. recently announced that KB Home, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, will now include a Carrier Côr thermostat in all of its homes at newly built communities opening in 2016 and beyond.
The Côr smart thermostat combines the convenience of smart device remote access with improved system efficiency. It allows users to control their homes’ heating and cooling conveniently from any Internet-connected device, easily monitor their energy usage, and let the smart technology automatically optimize their homes’ energy needs.
Incorporating the Côr thermostat as a standard feature of KB Home’s residences is the builder’s latest in a series of continual energy-efficiency improvements to its new homes. All KB Home’s homes are Energy Star-certified and include WaterSense®-labeled fixtures as well as other features for smarter, healthier, more sustainable homes.
“KB Home’s decision to make the Côr thermostat a standard component of its new homes illustrates a commitment to smart technology as a way to deliver convenience and efficiency to homeowners,” said David Meyers, vice president of sales for Carrier, a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, which is a unit of United Technologies Corp. “We are thrilled KB Home selected Carrier and our Côr thermostat, which builds on more than a century of experience in heating and cooling. We believe its innovative features and ease of use will improve their homeowners’ lifestyles.”
