IRVINE, Calif. — FieldConnect, a leading mobile field service solution provider for the HVAC service industry, has introduced a new Subcontractor Portal. The cloud-based service gives HVAC and other service organizations real-time visibility to subcontracted jobs with an easy-to-use process for their subcontractors to bill for completed work.
“Our mobile field service customers have told us subcontractor management is a time-consuming challenge,” said Peter Godlewski, FieldConnect president. “FieldConnect customers have great mobile work order and history look-up tools for their own service techs. Their subs, however, don’t always have a mobile solution of their own or even an accounting system to get the work and invoice done in a timely fashion.”
The FieldConnect Subcontractor Portal is a cloud-based, pay-as-you-go service that links organizations to their subcontractors. In the portal, the service organization sets up as many subcontractors as they want — each subcontractor with a proprietary set of billing rates and rules. The service organization then pays on a per-work order basis to issue work for bid to one or more subcontractors. The subcontractors use the portal to complete and invoice work on any web-connected mobile device. The service organization monitors subcontractor activity through the portal and the portal’s email alerts. Using the portal makes subcontractor activity visible and speeds subcontractor invoicing.
Lee Company, one of the largest mechanical contractors in Tennessee, was the first company to trial the product. “With the FieldConnect Subcontractor Portal the objective is to get the work to the subcontractor, do the work as quickly as possible, and then have the ability to get the invoice back within a couple of hours. The product definitely delivers,” said Brent Speck, network administrator.
