LIVONIA, Mich. — The Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association has announced the first ever recipient of the Clifford McCourt Lifetime Achievement Award. Edward Bartram, owner of Diversified Heating & Cooling Inc., Farmington Hills, Michigan, and current president of the Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association, was presented the award during the association’s 2016 Spring Trade Show & Educational Expo on April 21.
Bartram has been a mechanical contractor since 1975. He has been the president and longtime board member of both the Michigan and Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractor Associations. He has served for eight years on the State Board of Mechanical Rules, is a licensed builder, a licensed mechanical Inspector, and is currently the secretary of the Michigan Mechanical Inspectors Association (MMIA). He has worked tirelessly helping to develop educational programs at the state and local association levels, and on several code review committee assignments.
The lifetime achievement award is named after Cliff McCourt who has been an industry Icon in Michigan for over 40 years. McCourt is the founder and president of Day & Night Heating & Cooling Inc. in Novi, Michigan, and is a past president and board member of both the Michigan and Southeast Michigan Air Conditioning Contractor Associations. He is a founding member of the Michigan Coalition for Fair Competition where he spearheaded a long legal battle with state utility companies over unfair competition practices.
