SHELTON, Conn. — Budderfly LLC, a provider of energy management solutions, has been recognized as a 2016 Gartner Cool Vendor in Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions. By adding IoT devices and advanced software to an existing infrastructure, Budderfly’s solution is said to be able to enhance the energy efficiency performance of any building.
“We are delighted that Gartner included the Budderfly IoT solution in their list of Cool Vendors,” said Ken Buda, Budderfly’s vice president of operations. “We believe that Budderfly’s energy management technology addresses the gaps in functionality that exist in virtually all current commercial building management and energy management systems.”
The Budderfly solution identifies and helps maximize energy savings using IoT electrical devices or “adaptors.” Each Budderfly IoT device includes a specially designed power measurement circuit that is coupled with a communications system to deliver real-time consumption and control functionality. Budderfly IoT devices are specifically designed for multiple different applications such as HVAC, lighting, plug load, motion sensing, and light sensing, using the existing wireless building communications infrastructure to create a dedicated network of energy monitoring and energy consuming devices known as the Budderfly On Premise Energy Network.
Each Budderfly hardware system is specifically configured, designed, and installed based on need and building infrastructure configuration. The hosted software environment collects consumption data, providing intelligent control and reporting so energy managers can see exactly where energy is being used. By tracking energy consumption across the entire enterprise down to an individual light switch, outlet, thermostat, or power strip, the company said customers can pinpoint gaps most energy management solutions don’t see.
