WAUWATOSA, Wis. — Representatives from Johnson Controls Inc., its Luxaire distributor Design Air LLC, and New Berlin, Wisconsin-based Luxaire contractor Capital Heating & Cooling joined families, business leaders, community members, and Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin staff, board members, volunteers, and wish families as they celebrated the grand opening of the new Make-A-Wish Wisconsin offices in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, on June 2.
Among the many businesses that contributed to the new office space, Design Air, in cooperation with Johnson Controls and its Luxaire brand of heating and air conditioning equipment, donated a significant portion of the HVAC system for the offices. Additionally, Capital Heating & Cooling completed the installation of two Luxaire packaged heating and cooling units, ductwork for the units, and a Luxaire ductless mini-split system.
The Luxaire brand of Johnson Controls has donated more than $3 million nationally to Make-A-Wish. Along with the support of Design Air, Capital Heating & Cooling, and other Luxaire distributors and contractors, Johnson Controls has helped to grant 458 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“We are very proud of the commitment we’ve been able to make to Make-A-Wish over the past 15 years,” said Steve Hoffins, director of marketing, unitary products group, Johnson Controls. “It’s especially heartwarming to know our contributions are supporting children and their families in many of the communities where we live and work.”
One of those children, 4-year-old Natalie is the daughter of Capital Heating & Cooling HVAC installer Joe Brensinger. A year ago, Natalie’s wish to visit the Florida theme parks was granted through Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, and she and her parents made the trip to Florida in May. The Brensinger family attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony in Wauwatosa and participated in the presentation of a $5,000 check to Make-A-Wish from Capital Heating & Cooling.
“The check isn’t about Capital Heating & Cooling,” said Jason Fox, owner, Capital Heating and Cooling. “It’s about children like Natalie, employees like Joe, and all the families whose lives are forever changed by the generosity of strangers and the granting of wishes.”
