HOUSTON — Daikin North America LLC has launched a new interactive, online platform that provides a complete, shareable variable refrigerant volume (VRV) product selection tool, allowing a user to create projects and then select the appropriate equipment and controls to meet project needs, and ultimately generate a mechanical schedule and detailed selection reports.

The new WebXpress (VRV) tool provides an interactive environment built to help sales partners, mechanical engineers, and contractors manage design, selection, and prepare for installation of Daikin VRV systems in residential and commercial buildings.

“Our new WebXpress (VRV) tool will supersede the offline version of VRVXpress that has been used to select VRV systems for the past 12 years,” said Deepak Mandloi, manager - sales tools, Daikin North America LLC. “The new tool builds on these strong foundations and provides a reliable platform for VRV project creation and selection, along with enhanced functionality that can facilitate working with multiple stakeholders on projects in design.”

The company said WebXpress (VRV) has been redesigned from the ground up and assembled into a robust online platform featuring a number of functional enhancements, such as the integrated mechanical schedule generator, or the ability to directly import zone load data from heat load calculation tools. It is also integrated into Daikin City (www.daikincity.com), Daikin’s interactive online portal that provides a library of resources for Daikin sales partners, HVAC contractors, mechanical engineers, and others.

The transition to an online platform allows users ability to design and access their complete library of VRV projects from anywhere on any operating system — such as Windows, Apple, or Linux — and this is one of the key benefits of the WebXpress (VRV) tool.

“We’ve made it easier for our customers and partners to collaborate on the go and anywhere by using desktops, laptops, or tablet devices,” Mandloi said. “WebXpress (VRV) provides one place to create and update VRV project selections and directly interacts with Daikin City, which has become the go-to resource for our customers to use in the pricing, submittal, and documentation needs in a project design process.”

The company said additional features will be continuously added to WebXpress as it evolves to serve as a suite of online product selection tools. An example of this is the WebXpress (CTV) tool, which is a capacity table viewer customizable for quick and easy review or analysis of VRV system capacity and performance data. This feature helps save time from having to search through extensive data tables traditionally only published in engineering data books.
