HARRISBURG, Pa. — HB McClure Co. an-nounced its support of breast cancer awareness by committing to a minimum donation of $2,000 to the Feel Your Boobies Foundation.
Feel Your Boobies, founded by cancer survivor Leigh Hurst, is a nonprofit breast cancer organization that promotes proactive breast health to young women. The foundation uses fresh and fun educational campaigns primarily targeted to woman under 40, which is the pre-mammogram age.
Feel Your Boobies’ primary program is its College Outreach Program, which provides free educational materials to more than 200 college campuses nationwide. The program includes reminder kits for college health centers, a Bras Across America event that targets student organizations to bring the Feel Your Boobies reminder to their campus, and a new video produced by Shippensburg University alumni called “You’re Not Too Young,” which highlights young breast cancer survivors’ stories.
HB McClure supported these programs by donating $1 for every residential service call and installation completed during October. The company has set its goal at a minimum of $2,000. To further show commitment to the community and breast cancer awareness, HB McClure’s residential technicians and installers also wore pink shoe covers instead of the standard blue all month long. “As a company that is and has always been committed to supporting the community, HB McClure is proud to pair up with the Feel Your Boobies Foundation for this important movement,” said Robert Whalen, president of HB McClure. “By working alongside Leigh Hurst, Founder of the Feel Your Boobies Foundation, we hope to gain support from our residential customers to surpass our $2,000 goal.”
