PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. — MISTRAS announced the acquisition of Condenser & Chiller Services Inc. (CCS). CCS is a nondestructive testing (NDT) inspection and complete heat exchanger service provider for commercial and industrial cooling and air conditioning applications. CCS subsidiary, California Finned Tube Company (Cal-Fin), a manufacturer and vendor of heat exchanger tubes, was included as part of the acquisition. Both CCS and Cal-Fin are based out of Chino (Los Angeles), California. CCS will continue to operate under its existing name.

CCS specializes in heat exchanger tube repairs, coatings, and eddy current (EC) analyses on chillers, condensers, water tube boilers, and evaporators. In addition, the company also provides Ameriican Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code welding, cooling tower maintenance, chiller tube cleaning, and re-tubing services. CCS inspects and repairs over a million heat exchanger tubes a year, utilizing EC, remote video, and ultrasonic NDT techniques.
CCS provides services throughout the United States, and has recently been contracted to perform testing and cleaning operations in Asia. The company provides inspection and repair services in high-rises, universities, hospitals, and manufacturing and chemical plants, amongst other commercial and industrial facilities.

The acquisition benefits both companies, as MISTRAS bolsters its heat exchanger services while CCS gains the full complement of MISTRAS’ worldwide knowledge and resource network. CCS’ Chino office joins MISTRAS’ existing California locations in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Cudahy, Benicia, Point Richmond, and Torrance.

"CCS has developed a strong reputation with their customers,” said Mike Lange, vice chairman of the board of directors and senior executive vice president of global business development, marketing and strategic planning for MISTRAS Group. “CCS’ services and the industries they operate in align well with MISTRAS’ strategic direction, as we attempt to target a larger share of this competitive industry.”
ldquo;MISTRAS’ wide range of solutions greatly expands our service offerings to all phases of heat exchanger lifetimes, so we’re truly a fit for following MISTRAS’ mission as a leading one-source provider,” said Done Spence, CCS president.
